Yeah, so i keep forgetting about this. LJ is now just my way to reach other people that don't go to my dA account, so don't expect me to be on here very often (ie, my dA journal gets updated much more often).
Here's why i'm posting here though:
sugar-high-productions.com is no more
after a long, vicious, drawn out battle with Network Solutions (don't EVER EVER EVER go through them, btw) to get my name transferred to godaddy (who's been awesome), i've given up. They now want to charge me $150 to get my freaking name back (NS not godaddy) and i basically told them to shove it.
Anyhoo, the new site address will be meghanhetrick.com I just need to get the nameserver info from my host, as i currently can't access anything related to my account coz it was tied in with the SHP name.
This was done this AM so it might take a few days for it to go through. I'll keep everyone notified as to what's going on on my dA account (meghanhetrick.deviantart.com)

Wow, it's been forever and a day since i updated this thing. I never redownloaded the client for posting without logging into LJ, so I always forget about it.
Reason for this post is the announcement that I am now engaged, heh. Mike and I have been dating for almost 4 years now. We had a slight break this past summer, but after a bit of soulsearching on my behalf (and his too apparently), we got back together, and obviously things have been very good.
Um... i don't quite know what else to say, i normally don't post info like this (or at all really), lol. I'm also still in sort of a state of shock, heheh.
I'll try and keep posting, if anyone's interested. Until then, have fun, and happy holidays! |

So i finally got elfwood updated right... but it's like completely stupid, lol. Only 2 of the pics i updated with have that pretty "update!" border on it (you know, the red double lines *rolls eyes*), and my info at the top is all odd.

Well, after over a year and a half of stagnation, i FINALLY got my site updated. Having a computer crash on you every friggin month certainly didn't help, but that's still not a valid excuse for the torpor it was in.
I'm all proud of myself now, heh.

I just downgraded my website. I don't use or update it enough to warrent paying as much for it as i was.
I'm also having problems trying to figure out PHP for a message board and guestbook thing (it's phBB and Advanced Guestbook v 2.3.something). If anyone would like to help out with that it'd be greatly appreciated =)

So, after a few more successive hard drive failures, i've gotten to the point where i dread doing anything on this PC. This is why i've been absent from online for a while, and also why most my art is going back to being traditional hard copy stuff. Death to PCs.

Anyhoo, in other news, the Probe died, i got a new car, a 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX, for which i'm going to be suffering making the payments on it. I couldn't see putting more money than the car was worth into getting the Probe fixed, as much as i love/d it (head gasket was leaking, transmission blew up the day i traded it in, and the clutch was basically dead, all at 64,000 miles. Go Ford *mutter*)
I might've found publishing support for Windrider (see, it's really not dead, i'm just working on making it perfect, ask Scullyraptor/Emilie). I just gotta get the first bit done (layouts are done, along with plotting and designs, i just need to do the final pencils).
Um... i was going to write more, but my train of thought got derailed. I'll try to remember posting here... gotta reinstall that damn client, blah.

You know what i miss? I miss having an actual art community, with actual boards and posts that don't get trampled over by single entries.
I'm thinking of recoding my message board (i only took it down previously due to a script error that i couldn't seem to fix), but only if other people are interested in participating in a community like that again. I know a lot of people have been burned, but i'm willing to try it again.
If you're interested, just post a reply, or even just comment.

Wow, didn't realize how long it's been since i posted. Here's what's happened since the last pseudo-update:
Got a puppy - she's a Boston Terrier, born January 1st 2005. We named her Beanie (you know, coz she's a boston.... made sense to me). She has to be by far the sweetest puppy i've ever had or been around. She's playful, but not overly so, and she absutively loves snuggling, almost to the point of being obnoxious. The cats hate her. Turbo and Dually haven't come near me since i brought her home, lol. I have pics, but i have to shrink them down and make them look a bit better (they're rediculously huge right now, and kinda dark).
The kitten from the above post died a week after i handed him back to the SPCA. He and his siblings were with a foster mother, but then, after a week, something struck the clinic, and all newborn kittens died (that litter, and another litter born the same day all died). I feel really bad about the fact that he died, because i know if i raised him, this probably wouldn't have happened. But who knows....
Anyway, i'm trying to gather stuff for a site update. Also trying to figure out if i should go for the vet thing. I have no idea how long it's going to be for me to get ALL of my stuff paid off, and there's no way for me to be able to go to school until then.... I'll probably take a few here and there classes until i figure out what's going on, maybe even some non-credit stuff, just to get myself mentally active again.
I think that's about it, so i'll post when i actually have news worth sharing. Bai bai.

My first day of volunteering at the SPCA, and i already have a new kitty. Sort of.
Mama cat had to deliver by C-Section, which meant that she couldn't have her kittens tonight, in the case that she might squish them while she was waking up and all groggy like. So, me being someone who has experience raising infant kittens, i got to bring one home and keep it alive for the night.
The kitty is so adorable. It's primarily light grey, with splotches of white on its muzzle and down under its neck and belly. It'll have to be brought back tomorrow though, to be with it's mom.
Also found what i hope to be is my dog. Purebred white German Shepherd. Sweetest temperment you'll ever find, and she talks, lol. She's extremely underweight though. I can't understand people who starve their animals. Going to talk to my landlord tomorrow, and see if she'll allow me to have a large dog.
Anyhoo, gotta feed the fluffball again, hehe. I can't believe i actually enjoy this stuff.

Went back to the shelter tonight. Brought a couple of old bedspreads and a whole lot of towels down. Lol, I got attacked by a flock of cats when i went into the kitty room. One looked *exactly* like my old cat Max, the cat i was, and still am in many ways, rediculously attached to. That wasn't good, as I started crying again on the spot. Going to go through the garage and my grandparents house for more old blankets, sheets, etc, maybe i'll find some toys and stuff for the kitties.
Before going there, i had this attitude about the SPCA, like, "I shouldn't support them, because they're a kill shelter." Well, going there has completely changed my mind about that. Yes, i'm still not happy that the SPCA has to euthanize animals, but it's really not their fault, it's the people who irresponsibly take these creatures, and then can't provide them homes, or, for the people who die, set up a provisionary type "will" for the animals. Also, because it's a kill shelter, i want to provide these critters with as much TLC as possible, in case they don't make it out alive. So i think i'm going to routinely hit up the thrift shops and etc, and buy blankets and stuff in bulk. I'll probably start saving cardboard boxes from work to bring down as well.
Real eye opening experience today, that much is definate.
